Discovery of Luxembourg’s Food System
The team of Sustainable Food Practices, Dr. Rachel Reckinger, Dr. Diane Kapgen, Dr. Helena Korjonen, and Ms. Anna Pax published their interactive infographic of the Luxembourgish food system, titled ‘Food System Discovery: Actors and Activities in Luxembourg’. Accessible live on genially and as an interactive document, it features definitions and descriptions of food system actors on different levels, in order to give an empirical and encompassing view of what a food system is composed of, while illustrating those qualifications with examples from Luxembourg. The definitions of actor categories, actor groups and actor types allows the infographic to be transposed to other contexts, whilst seeing the more detailed illustrative examples from Luxembourg gives the national perspective.
An Infographic Synopsis of Luxembourg’s Food System

The visual depiction aims to unravel its complexity, and avoid the downfalls of simpler depictions, which focus more directly on key actors and may often overlook actors in the broader foodscape.
